Market Update: Uruguay Inflation Edges Down to Fresh 3-Year Low
The annual inflation rate in Uruguay edged down to 6.64 percent in May of 2021, the lowest reading since April of 2018 as both food prices (4.37 percent vs 4.56 percent in April) and cost of restaurants & hotels (6.48 percent vs 6.29 percent) increased at a slower rate. In contrast, inflation end up quickening for both housing & utilities (6.48 percent vs 6.29 percent) and transports (6.26 percent vs 5.79 percent).
