Market Update: Paraguay Inflation Hits Two-Year High
The annual inflation rate in Paraguay increased 3.7 percent in May of 2021 from 2.5 percent in the previous month. It was the highest reading since May of 2019, as prices advanced faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (6.8 percent vs 4.0 percent in April), transport (5.4 percent vs 2.9 percent) and housing & utilities (2.5 percent vs 2.4 percent). Meantime, furniture & household equipment inflation was steady (at 2.3 percent).
