Market Update: Malawi May Inflation Rate Drops to 8.9%
The annual inflation rate in Malawi decelerated for the second straight month to 8.9 percent in May of 2021. Food prices advanced 11 percent from a year earlier, down slightly from an 11.5 percent jump in the previous month. Meanwhile, non-food inflation ticked higher (7.1 percent vs 7 percent).
