Market Update: Sensex Rebounds at End of Weak Session
The S&P BSE Sensex reversed early losses to close 0.4% higher at 52,574 on Monday, boosted by gains in heavyweights Reliance Industries and Hindustan Unilever. In addition, state utility firm NTPC closed 3.9% higher after posting higher March-quarter profit. Investors shrug off the US Federal Reserves surprise hawkish turn last week, and focused on hopes for a quicker economic recovery in India, as the second wave of infections continued to show signs of slowing and the economies of many states re-opened.
