Market Update: Finnish Jobless Rate Falls to 9.6% in May
Finland’s unemployment rate declined to 9.6 percent in May of 2021 from 10.9 percent in the same month the previous year. The number of unemployed decreased by 25 thousand to 300 thousand, while the number of employed advanced by 138 thousand to 2.580 million. The unemployment rate for people aged 15 to 24 stood at 28.1 percent, which was 11.1 percentage points lower than one year previously. The activity rate was up to 69.2 percent in May from 66.3 percent a year earlier, and the employment rate rose to 73.0 percent from 69.1 percent. source: Statistics Finland [/s2If]
