Market Update: European Equity Markets Set for Muted Start
European stock futures pointed to a flat start on Wednesday, ahead of the release of June flash PMI surveys as well as key speeches by ECB’s Lagarde and De Guindos later in the day. The PMI data will offer a first look at the strength of the economic recovery, with investors paying close attention to any signs of a persistent surge in price pressures. Elsewhere, US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Tuesday the recent spike in prices had been bigger than expected but would likely to be temporary, and pledged to keep interest rates near zero for some time.
