Market Update: Chile Producer Inflation Eases from 11-Year High
Chiles producer price inflation eased to 30.4 percent in June of 2021, from an eleven-year high of 34.4 percent in the previous month. Upward pressure eased mainly in the mining sector (51.9 percent vs 63.5 percent in May), mostly for copper extraction & processing (53.2 percent vs 68.6 percent) while prices rose in iron extraction (83.9 percent vs 67.3 percent). Meanwhile, producer inflation quickened for manufacturing (11.0 percent vs 8.3 percent), and for electricity, water & gas supply (2.6 percent vs 2.4 percent).
