Market Update: Qatar July Inflation Rate Highest Since 2016
The annual inflation rate in Qatar increased to 3.13% in July of 2021 from 1.98% in the previous month which was the highest level since April 2016, due mainly to a faster rise in prices of transport (10.11% vs 9.38%), food & beverages (2.58% vs 2.09%) and miscellaneous goods & services (3.16% vs 3.14%). Prices continued to increase for both communication (0.91% vs 2.99%) and furniture & household equipment (2.63% vs 3.13%). In addition, deflation eased for housing & utilities (-5.24% vs -6.50%), clothing & footwear (-1.77% vs -4.72%).
