Market Update: Belarus Inflation Rate at Over 4-Year High
The annual inflation rate in Belarus quickened to 9.4 percent in May of 2021 from 8.6 percent in the previous month. It was the highest consumer price inflation since January of 2017, underpinned by non-food (10.6 percent vs 10.1 percent in April) and food products (8.9 percent vs 7.4 percent), while the increase in services charges eased (8.7 percent vs 8.9 percent).
