Market Update: South African Rand Remains Subdued
The South African rand was little changed at 13.8 against the greenback on Tuesday, as the dollar held strong and as investors cautiously awaited a much-anticipated Federal Reserve meeting outcome to assess if the central bank would sign any change to the US monetary policy stance. Locally, concerns mounted over the size and acceleration of South Africas third Covid-19 wave, amid insufficient vaccination and recent issues with lots of Johnson & Johnson vaccine. [/s2If]
