Market Update: South Africa Building Permits Rise the Most on Record
The value of recorded building plans passed in South Africa jumped at a record 346% from a year earlier in April of 2021, after an upwardly revised 4% rise in the prior month, mainly due to a low base effect following the April 2020 dip. Sharp increases were seen in building plans for the residential segment (506.7% vs -3% in March), additions & alterations (371.8% vs 2.7%) and the non-residential sector (152.5% vs 21.5%). source: Statistics South Africa [/s2If]
