Market Update: US Stock Futures Hold Near Record Highs
US Futures were little changed in overnight deals Tuesday after closing near record highs during regular trade. Inflation fears eased further as Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Tuesday reaffirmed the US central bank’s intent to encourage a “broad and inclusive” recovery of the job market, noting that officials would not raise interest rates based only on the fear of coming inflation. Local 10-year bond yields were steady at 1.465%. On Tuesday, the Dow rose 68 points or 0.2% to 33945.59. The S&P 500 advanced 22 points or 0.5% to close just 0.2% away from a fresh all-time closing high. The tech-heavy Nasdaq outperformed its peers, added 111.79 points or 0.8% to notch a fresh record high above the 14,253 level. [/s2If]
