Market Update: Qatar GDP Shrinks 2.5% in Q1
The economy of Qatar shrank 2.5 percent from a year earlier in the first quarter of 2021, following a 3.9 percent contraction in the previous period. Negative growth was recorded from mining and quarrying activities (-2.3 percent) and non-mining and quarrying sector (-2.7 percent), such as construction (-4.7 percent) and transportation and storage (-20.8 percent).
