Market Update: Austria August Jobless Rate at Falls to 6.9%
The unemployment rate in Austria declined to 6.9 percent in August of 2021 from 8.9 percent in the corresponding month of the previous year, amid the ongoing economic recovery from the pandemic crisis, helped by the vaccination campaign and the lifting of restrictions. The number of people registered as unemployed dropped by 85,616 to 286,277, of which, youth unemployment shrank by 12,617 to 27,178.
