Market Update: Colombia Inflation at Over 4-Year High
The annual inflation rate in Colombia edged up to 4.44 percent in August of 2021 from 3.97 percent in July, marking the highest reading since April of 2017. Cost advanced faster for housing and utilities (3.5 percent vs 3.3 percent in July), food and non-alcoholic beverages (11.5 percent vs 9.8 percent), transportation (5 .1 percent vs 5 percent), restaurants and hotels (6.9 percent vs 6.1 percent), and furniture (3.3 percent vs 2.9 percent).
