It’s that time of the year again, where all of us from professionals to apes are glued to the screen listening about what Powell is going to do with his printing machine. Most agree that there’ll be a rate hike of .5 with a small chance of .75. Focus this time around will most likely be quantitative tightening and the plans forward. Maybe we’ll get a 2 % dump in SPY like last time, I had a heart rate of 120 thoughout most of the press conference. Remember that the minutes are released three weeks afterwards, which should be Wednesday May 25th, I think it’s at 10:00 am.
I don’t have any positions right now, though I’ve switced to a fixed rate on my mortgage. Though I think housing prices are going to fall like in the end of the 80s/beginning of the 90s, usually they recover in about 5 years, and as long as you live there for years, you shouldn’t experience a loss.
