Market Update: TSX Extends Record-Setting Rally
Canadian shares rose for a third consecutive session on Tuesday, with the benchmark S&P/TSX Composite notching a fresh record high around 20,080 as investors grew optimistic about the countrys economic recovery. Canada unexpectedly posted a trade surplus of CAD 594 million in April, as a shortage of chips slashed imports and exports of motor vehicles and parts, Statistics Canada data indicated.
