Good morning from #Germany, which has significantly extended the avg maturity of its debt. While the avg maturity of German govt bonds was just over 5yrs in 2000, it is now ~8.5yrs, acc to Buba. Even if rates on fin mkts rise, debt service becomes more expensive very slowly. h/t Holger Zschaepitz
