Goldman Sachs has lowered their prediction for China’s economic growth in 2023 to 5.4% from 6%, citing President Xi Jinping’s focus on real estate control, a decreasing population, and high levels of debt as factors limiting the government’s ability to provide large stimulus packages as they have in the past.
